Smoke Detectors
*It is recommended that residents dispose of smoke detectors by sending the used unit 
back to the manufacturer.  This is because smoke alarms contain an ionization sensor, 
which is a small amount of radioactive material encapsulated in a metal chamber.  
Otherwise, residents can dispose of smoke detectors in their regular garbage.  
Businesses must return smoke alarms to the supplier.
